MFE Price Hike

I was in Sephora today just browsing and I was looking for some cream eyeshadow. And I noticed there were some stickers over make up forever products indicating new pricing. I saw on one that somebody had scratched the new price to revealed the old price and in the case of one product there was a price hike of two dollars. I would imagine similar things on these products that I have circled.

As I continued to move through the store I did not notice any stickers updating prices on any other items in the entire store. Just something that I found very interesting. Why the price hike? If these products haven’t been reformulated to offer something better or a better version of the product why are you expecting customers to pay more for the same product?
