š My Signature Donatos Pizza (You Have to Try This Combo)
I work at Donatos, so naturally I had to create my own signature pizza⦠and baby, this one is a 10/10 every single time. š®āšØš„
Hereās exactly how I build it:
⨠Step 1: Toast the crust first.
I start with a small crust, drizzle it with olive oil, then send it through the breadstick oven first. I like my pizza with a little crunch, and this step makes ALL the difference.
⨠Step 2: Sauce (optional).
Some days I skip it completely, but when I do use sauce, I go with a VERY light layer of thick pizza sauce. (Yes⦠thick sauce on a thin crust. Trust me. š)
⨠Step 3: Cheese.
Now this is where I donāt play.
I use provolone and I mean LOAD IT UP.
If you can still see the sauceā¦
You didnāt use enough. š¤
⨠Step 4: The secret ingredient.
Before ANY toppings go onā¦
š¶ļø Crushed red pepper flakes.
Right on top of the cheese.
That little layer underneath everything gives every bite a subtle kick.
⨠Step 5: Toppings.
⢠Extra Italian sausage
⢠Banana peppers
⢠Jalapeños
Sweet.
Savory.
Spicy.
Perfect balance. šš½
⨠Step 6: Finish it off.
Top it with the Donatos cheese seasoning, bake it well done close to the heat, then break the rulesā¦
Everybody else cuts theirs into squares.
I always get mine pie cut. š
