I Cheated on Colgate After YEARS… 👀🪥
Okay, IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW — I was a Colgate girly DOWN. 😂 Specifically that Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening Brisk Mint? Baby, THAT was my toothpaste.
And before we go any further: I ONLY USE PASTE.
Gel toothpaste??? Straight to jail. 🚔😭 I don’t want recommendations, explanations, testimonials — NOTHING. I said what I said.
BUTTTT… after seeing Sensodyne talked about so much, I finally cheated on my Colgate and tried the Sensodyne Extra Whitening, and I’ve been using it for about 2–3 weeks now. 👀 So far? I actually like it! And most importantly… IT’S PASTE. 😂
My current little oral-care lineup:
• 🪥 Medium toothbrush — I tried soft because everybody says it’s better, but I just prefer the feel of medium.
• 🦷 Sensodyne Extra Whitening — currently testing her out after YEARS of being loyal to Colgate.
• 👅 Guru Nanda tongue scraper — I switched from my metal scraper because this one has the little bristles AND the scraper.
• 🌿 TheraBreath mouthwash — I like it, but I’m still dating around when it comes to mouthwash. 😂 Nobody has made me want to be exclusive yet.
• ✨ Guru Nanda Super Soft SlimPicks — BABYYYYY. 10/10. THESE ARE THE ONES. I need the 100-pack because those little 20-packs are disrespectful. 😭
This is basically my little before-the-lip-gloss routine — brush, tongue, between the teeth, fresh breath… THEN we can get cute. 💋✨
Now I need to know: What oral-care product are you so loyal to that nobody can convince you to switch? And pleaseeeee don’t come in here trying to convert me to gel toothpaste. 😂

Switching from my longtime favorite Colgate toothpaste to Sensodyne Extra Whitening was a surprisingly positive change. I was initially hesitant because of my strict preference for paste toothpaste—gel products are a no-go for me. Sensodyne’s formula not only meets that criterion but also provides excellent whitening with the added bonus of sensitivity protection. What really sold me was how gentle Sensodyne felt on my teeth while still delivering noticeable whitening results. Having sensitive teeth myself, I appreciate that it’s dentist-recommended and focuses on strengthening enamel, which reduces discomfort during daily brushing. Plus, the fresh mint flavor keeps my breath feeling clean and confident all day. In addition to toothpaste, my oral-care routine has evolved to include complementary tools. I currently use a medium bristle toothbrush because it strikes the perfect balance between a thorough clean and gum comfort, something I didn’t realize mattered until I switched from soft to medium bristles. The Guru Nanda tongue scraper is a game changer—it features soft bristles alongside a scraper to remove bacteria and debris, leaving my tongue feeling fresh and my breath noticeably better. My mouthwash of choice is TheraBreath, which I’m still committing to fully. Its pH-balanced, alcohol-free formula fights bad breath-causing bacteria without the burning sensation common in other rinses. I love how it works alongside my toothpaste and tongue scraper to maintain fresh breath and a clean mouth. For interdental care, I swear by Guru Nanda Super Soft SlimPicks. These flexible picks are gentle on my gums yet effective at removing food particles and plaque build-up between teeth. I recommend getting the larger 100-pack because 20-pack refills just don’t last and feel inadequate. This complete oral-care system, starting with a reliable toothpaste paste like Sensodyne Extra Whitening, has boosted my confidence and elevated my daily hygiene routine. Following this routine before applying my lip gloss is my little secret to feeling fresh and camera-ready. If you’ve been loyal to a particular oral-care product or brand, I’d love to hear about your favorites! And don’t worry—I’m sticking to paste toothpaste, so no gel conversions here.
