Tip:
Stand a bit farther back and zoom in (around 4x) for the best shots.
P8–P10
Wharf 5 at Circular Quay
Take the F4 ferry route.
I just tapped my credit card — super smooth and easy.
Once the ferry starts moving, the wind gets STRONG.

In addition to the three main photo spots I mentioned, here are some extra tips and locations that can elevate your Sydney Opera House photo experience: 1. Consider visiting during the golden hour—early morning or late afternoon—to capture the iconic sails bathed in warm natural light. This timing adds depth and brings out the unique shapes beautifully. 2. Walk along the Bennelong Point Sea Wall. It’s a popular but lesser-known spot where you can sit right on the edge and enjoy unobstructed views, perfect for a relaxed, creative shot or a peaceful moment. 3. Take advantage of the public gardens around the Opera House. There are benches and green areas that provide a nice contrast in your photos, with the Opera House looming impressively in the background. 4. If you’re up for some adventure, climb to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. Although a short walk from the Opera House, this vantage point offers sweeping panoramic views over Sydney Harbour and is ideal for wide-angle shots. 5. Don’t forget to bring a zoom lens or use optical zoom on your phone when photographing from Cremorne Point Wharf. Zooming in captures the intricate details of the shells through the glass bus stop frame. 6. When taking the ferry from Wharf 5, hold onto your camera tightly—the wind picks up and the ferry moves quickly! Leaving your hat behind is a good idea unless you want it to fly away.
