Cold day in Texas
Today’s OOTD for a cold 25 degrees day in Texas.
I’m loving these slouch pants from Walmart! I wanted them really long so I opted to rip out the hem… I love a raw, frayed hem! They run true to size. I paired a lightweight, cropped sweater with my favorite denim jacket. The scarf is one of my favorites that I got in Scotland. My boots are from a few years ago and I just love how the neutral , pointed toe balanced out the wide leg of my jeans.Texas @walmartofficial #walmart #walmartfashion #ootd #ootdinspiration
It's always a challenge when those unexpected cold snaps hit, especially here in Texas where we're not always braced for 25-degree days! My OOTD for today was all about balancing warmth with personal style, and I wanted to share a bit more about how I approach dressing for these chilly temperatures. First off, layering is truly your best friend. For my look today, I started with a lightweight cropped sweater. While it might seem counterintuitive for cold weather, a lighter base allows you to add warmer layers on top without feeling bulky. My go-to is always a trusty denim jacket. It's not just a fashion statement; it acts as a fantastic middle layer, providing extra insulation without being too heavy. For truly freezing days, I might even add a thin thermal top underneath the sweater, just to be safe! The star of my outfit, those slouch pants from Walmart, are a perfect example of how to make affordable finds work for you. I loved the idea of a relaxed fit, but the original hem felt a little too 'finished' for my liking. Ripping out the hem gave them that perfectly frayed, raw edge that adds a touch of effortless cool. It's a small DIY that makes a huge difference in personalizing an item. When picking pants for cold weather, look for a thicker fabric or a looser fit that allows you to wear tights or leggings underneath if needed. Let's talk accessories! My scarf from Scotland isn't just a sentimental piece; it's a cold-weather essential. A good scarf can elevate any outfit while also keeping your neck and chest warm. I always recommend having a few versatile scarves in your wardrobe – plain knits for everyday, and a patterned one for when you want to add a pop of color or texture. And for footwear, my neutral, pointed-toe boots were a conscious choice. They beautifully balanced the wide leg of the slouch pants, preventing the outfit from looking too heavy or shapeless. When it's cold, comfortable and warm boots are non-negotiable. Look for waterproof options if there's any chance of rain or snow! For anyone asking "what should I wear tomorrow" when it's cold, my advice is to think about these key elements: The Base: Start with a comfortable, moisture-wicking layer. The Mid-Layer: Add warmth with sweaters, cardigans, or fleece. The Outer Layer: A good coat or jacket is crucial. Denim jackets are great for milder cold, but a heavier wool or puffer coat is needed for true winter. Bottoms: Jeans, thick trousers, or even insulated leggings under skirts/dresses. Accessories: Don't forget scarves, hats, and gloves – these make a huge difference in retaining body heat. Finding stylish yet practical pieces at places like Walmart has been a game-changer for my cold-weather wardrobe. You don't need to break the bank to stay warm and look good. It's all about smart choices and a little bit of personal flair. So next time the temperatures drop, try playing with layers, experimenting with hems, and don't underestimate the power of a good accessory to pull your OOTD together!
