🗓️ 7D-6N ITINERARY

🚗 DAY 1: CBD & CITY SIGHTS

• Elizabeth Quay: Waterside walks & cute pics 🌊

• The Bell Tower 🔔

• Blue Boat House: Iconic photo spot, was crowded at sunset so we just took pics OF it not with it 🚤

🦘 DAY 2: ROTTNEST ISLAND (QUOKKA DAY!)

• Ferry: Booked with Rottnest Fast Ferries which leaves from Hillarys Boat Harbour through their website. DO REACH 30 MINS early, they leave ON TIME & we learnt this the hard way… ⏰

• Timing: I recommend the 9:30am ferry, u don't need the whole day to explore unless you're renting e-bikes..?

• Bike Rental: Manual bikes are fine but hilly! You can rent baskets too at an extra charge. We cycled anticlockwise around the island. There’s only food sold near the ferry docks so do buy/ bring along some snacks!!

• Quokka Tip: They're mostly near the main settlement where you rent bikes!! We cycled the whole island looking and found them right where we started… 💀

• SEA SICKNESS WARNING: Avoid sitting near the front & napping on the way… Waters were choppy & I started puking even though I rarely get sea sick… while others saw a BABY WHALE, so suay 😭 They do provide puke bags, just ask for them early :p !

• Dinner: Viet Hoa & Yo-Chi (YES Perth has yochi at cheaper prices & shorter queues!)

🚗 DAY 3: ROAD TRIP TO MARGARET RIVER

• Stop 1: Point Peron - Indian Ocean views

• Stop 2: Busselton Jetty - go near sunset, it's BEAUTIFULL 🌅

• Dinner: Sons Of Naples - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! 1000/10 recommend 🍕

• Tip: Driving down takes agessss, so break it up with stops!

• Airbnb gem: https://www.airbnb.com/l/xj7I0FSY - host was soso sweet & went above beyond! (If the link doesn’t work: Rapids Retreat hosted by Claire/ feel free to dm me!!)

🐋 DAY 4: WHALES & CAVES

• Morning: Whale Watching Tour - winter migration! Saw 2 different whale species & dolphins playing with a baby whale!! Booked with Whale Watch Western Australia through their website.

• Redgate Beach - Rly beautiful waves crashing against rocks & entertaining surfers

• Mammoth Cave (self-guided audio tour)

• Kevill Road Waterfall

• (Original plan we skipped: Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse → Margaret River Sculpture Park → Hamelin Bay Beach (famous stingrays!) → Boranup Lookout → Capes Raptor Centre → Surfers Point for sunset)

🌊 DAY 5: COW HUGGING & FREMANTLE

• Qwack's Farm: Cow hugging!!! (Booking required & arrive early as they start on-time!) SOOSOSOSOSO fun they’re so friendly, it is slightly muddy though, & watch out for poop! There were sheep too & a cute doggy.

• Injidup Natural Spa & Canal Rocks: Walk the bridge & snap som pics 📸

• Fremantle: Markets (ONLY OPEN FRI-SUN!!), Prison, Ferris Wheel

🦘 DAY 6: KANGAROOS & CITY BITES

• Motor Museum of Western Australia: Was a rainy morning so we started off in some shelter.

• Caversham Wildlife Park: Feed kangaroos 🥹 + koala photo session (They do have timings for shows so do Google before going to make sure you reach early enough) The park itself roughly takes about ~1 hour to walk around and just see the animals (excluding feeding time etc.)

• Lunch: Don Birria Tacos - so good!

• Kings Park for final night city views

• (Original Plan we skipped: Turquoise Safaris Sea Lion Tour (7:15am) - no refund but thank god we didn't go bc the water was FREEZING 🥶 Jurien Bay → Thirsty Point Lookout → Lake Thetis → Hangover Bay → The Pinnacles Desert for Stargazing (others recommend arriving 4pm for sunset - $15 park entry)

🏞️ DAY 7: FINAL CHILL DAY :-(

• Bells Rapids: Saw Perth's annual Avon Descent white-water race! (Held second weekend August)

• Lunch: Hifumiya Udon, 10/10 Jap meal 🍜

• Trigg Beach: Beautiful final beach walk & sunset. Perfect way to end the trip

💡TIPS

• Rent a car for convenience!! - we used East Coast Car Rentals (book ahead & reserve a car for free, they pick you up from airport terminal 🚗)

• SIM card - can buy at airport, reasonably priced! Useful to be able to make local calls e.g to check on attraction timings

• Fremantle Markets - ONLY weekends (Fri-Sun)!!

• I recco booking activities in advance, especially Cow Hugging @Qwack’s Farm!! Keep a lookout for the “Sustainable Tourism Accredited Business” Badges on websites you book from

• Before going, I was told by a lot of ppl that Perth would be boring/ not much to do & everything closes early BUTTT that really wasn’t the case. Perth has been one of my favourite trips ever!! It’s such a nice breather from Singapore’s hectic life & CBD scenery

... Read moreTo make the most of your Perth adventure beyond the highlights shared, it’s worth considering a few extra tips and lesser-known gems. For transportation, renting a car is highly recommended as many natural attractions and coastal spots are spread out. Booking your rental in advance not only saves money but also ensures availability during peak travel seasons. Additionally, if you're interested in local culture, try to visit the Fremantle Markets on the weekend for artisan crafts and fresh local produce. Arriving early helps beat the crowds and gives you a full experience before the markets close in the evening. On Rottnest Island, bringing your own snacks is smart since food options are limited near the ferry docks. For those sensitive to seasickness, choosing a seat in the middle rather than at the front of the ferry can reduce discomfort. In the Margaret River region, allow extra time when driving between stops as the roads wind through breathtaking landscapes worth pausing for photos. Lastly, if time allows, consider visiting the Pinnacles Desert either for a stunning sunset or night sky stargazing. It's advisable to arrive in mid-afternoon to explore before park closing. These additional practical tips and alternative spots can enrich your itinerary, offering an even more personalized and enjoyable Perth experience.
