workout with us 🫶🏼

come workout with us!

we go to our mommy and me workout 4 days a week, and get some type of movement in the other 3 days

getting out of the house is a MUST for us! i’m so happy I found a workout program that allows him to be involved with me and lets me step away to feed or change him, and encourages me to hold or wear him during our workout if needed (which happens 98% of the time)

to all of my moms out there, don’t be discouraged about your fitness routine once baby comes. there were moments today where I wanted to give up and just go home; but we pushed through and got a good workout in. include your baby! they just want to be a part of everything you do 🤍

what’s your favorite way to get some movement in with your baby?

... Read moreSo many of you reached out after my last post asking about the specific exercises I do with my baby, and how I manage to get a workout in! It’s definitely a journey, and some days are harder than others, but I’ve found that incorporating my little one makes it not just possible, but genuinely fun. Here are some of my go-to mommy & me exercises that keep us both moving and grooving! 1. Stroller Strides & Outdoor Adventures: Getting out of the house is a game-changer for my mental health and physical activity. I love taking my baby for brisk walks or jogs in the stroller. It’s amazing cardio, and the fresh air is great for both of us, even on those cloudy days you sometimes see in my pictures. Pushing the stroller, especially uphill, adds an extra challenge. Sometimes I’ll even stop at a park bench for some tricep dips or step-ups while my "big guy" watches from his stroller, giving me those little "baby toes" wiggles of encouragement! It's a simple yet effective way to get those 56 minutes of movement in, just like my Apple Watch tracks after a good session. 2. Babywearing Strength Training: This is fantastic for when your baby wants to be held, which for me, happens 98% of the time! Wearing your baby in a comfortable, supportive carrier turns everyday movements into a workout. Think squats, lunges, and even some gentle bicep curls or overhead presses (if safe for your and baby's comfort and stage). The added weight of your baby provides natural resistance, helping to build strength. Just make sure your form is good and your baby is securely positioned. It's a great way to bond while boosting your fitness. 3. Floor Fun & Interactive Play: When we're indoors, I turn our playtime into mini-workout sessions. For example, during crunches, I’ll place my baby on my chest or lap and give them a kiss at the top. For push-ups, I might do them over them, making eye contact and silly faces. Leg lifts can be fun with them sitting on my shins (carefully, of course!). These aren't just exercises; they're interactive moments that make my little one feel completely involved, just wanting to be a part of everything I do. It helps me burn those calories, maybe even 471 like my watch showed! 4. Dance Parties & Gentle Stretches: Sometimes, the best movement is simply putting on some music and dancing around the living room with your baby in your arms or in a carrier. It’s an instant mood booster and a great way to get some low-impact cardio. We also do gentle stretches together, incorporating them into our morning routine. Holding them as you stretch can add a deeper stretch for you and new perspectives for them. Tips for Success: Listen to Your Body: Especially postpartum, don't push too hard too fast. Consult your doctor before starting any new routine. Make it Fun for Baby: If they’re engaged, you’re more likely to finish your workout. Short Bursts are Okay: Even 10-15 minutes adds up. Don't feel pressured to do a long session every time. Stay Hydrated & Fueled: Remember to drink plenty of water and eat nutritious snacks. Don't Compare: Every mom and baby journey is unique. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Finding what works for you and your family is key. What are some of your favorite exercises to do with your little ones? Share your tips below!
