✨And a round of applause for the gown.✨

There’s a feeling that words can’t quite touch when you step on stage. Whether I’m walking a runway, speaking to students, or leading a healing workshop—it’s never the same, and I’m always asked: what are you thinking in that moment?

Truth is, it changes every time.

But this moment… this was the moment. And if you asked me what was going through my mind as I stood there in this gown, I was looking for my family. I knew they wouldn’t be there. I knew my mom wouldn’t be in the crowd. But for a split second, I still searched.

I had just found out I made Top 10.

And for the first time in a long time, I wanted to call her. I wondered if she would’ve been proud. But instead—I told you all. I had five seconds to change and get back on stage, and in those five seconds, you gave me every ounce of the love I thought I was missing. You filled in the gap.

So, when you ask what I was feeling in this photo… my answer is simple:

This is for you.

Michigan. My tribe. My supporters. My rosebuds.

You made this moment whole.

And to TOYAAAAA (@theitgirltee )—this thank you is different. You didn’t just show up for me, you stood in the gap for me. You trusted me. You talked me through it all. If it weren’t for you, there would have been no Ms. Michigan Petite on that stage. No gown. No moment.

You made sure there was.

You are my sister. And I’m forever grateful. 👑🌹

(I HAVE A HUGE SECRET FOR YOU TOMORROW. ARE YOU READY!?)

... Read morePageantry is more than just a competition; it is an emotional and transformative journey that combines personal growth, community support, and self-expression. For contestants such as Ms. Michigan Petite, every stage moment holds deep significance, reflecting years of dedication and the strength drawn from their close-knit support systems. This story emphasizes the importance of finding connection and encouragement from a tribe — whether it’s family, friends, or fellow contestants. Often, pageants are seen solely through the lens of glamour and beauty, but the true essence lies in resilience, vulnerability, and the ability to stand tall despite life’s hardships. The role of mentorship in pageantry cannot be overstated. As demonstrated by TOYAAAAA's crucial support in this journey, having someone to trust and confide in can make the difference between walking the stage empty-handed or shining brightly. This sisterhood fosters mental health awareness and emotional healing, vital themes increasingly highlighted in pageant communities. Additionally, wearing the gown is symbolic—a powerful reminder of pride, achievement, and the collective love that fills any void left by absence or loss. Contestants often find their motivation not only in personal ambition but also in honoring those who have shaped their paths. The Ms. Michigan Petite pageant, part of the PetiteUSA organization, celebrates petite women’s empowerment and individuality. Contestants are seen not just as competitors but as role models who inspire confidence and advocate for mental health and community involvement. For fans and future contestants, this heartfelt narrative underscores taking every moment as an opportunity for gratitude and growth, knowing the stage is where inner strength meets outward beauty. It also encourages embracing imperfections, recognizing the power of healing workshops, and championing causes like mental health awareness through platforms like the Rosebud Sanctuary. Ultimately, moments like these in pageantry highlight that success is measured not just by titles but by the connections made, the courage cultivated, and the legacy of support and sisterhood left behind.
