Protective styles such as braids or twists can help retain moisture and reduce breakage, especially during busy or stressful periods. It's also important to develop a hair washing schedule that balances scalp health without stripping natural oils—usually once or twice a week works well for me. Using sulfate-free shampoos ensures gentler cleansing. Additionally, detangling should be done with care, preferably with fingers or wide-tooth combs, starting from the ends to the roots to minimize damage. Beyond hair care, embracing natural hair has boosted my confidence and connected me with a supportive community. Sharing tips, styling ideas, and hair journey stories has been encouraging. Remember, every natural hair journey is unique, and patience is key as your hair adapts to new habits. If you're considering going natural, take time to research, experiment, and celebrate the beauty of your own texture.
