Is it worth the $1.25? Dollar Tree Amigurumi Bee

For being a beginner crocheter, I thought this was super fun and challenging. I did not do well changing the colors, but that's what I get for watching one YT video, one time and thinking I could do it no problem. lol 😅

Anyway, my feedback on this would be that while the hook is useful, especially if you don't have a hook in the same size made of a sturdier material, it would probably save time and worry to just go out and buy a $2 crochet hook in the same size that comes in the kit (this one is 3.5mm). The hook that comes in the kit bends like an inflatable flailing arm man and I was worried about breaking it. BUT! It did not break.

It DOES NOT come with a stitch marker so you'll have to have and use your own!! Also the needle it comes with is made of plastic and the eye of the needle isn't big enough for the embroidery thread. If you don't have a metal crochet needle of your own, you can use a needle threader with the plastic needle.

With all that being said, I think it's definitely worth the $1.25 but that's because I had a stitch marker, I can read the crochet abbreviations, and I can make it again because of the written instructions. My Dollar Tree doesn't sell stitch markers however I've seen pictures of some other DT's having them. Also, the next time I try this bee out, I WILL be putting in two rows of the black and yellow instead of just one.
