Everyone Admired the Mask… But They Missed the Heart.

Attending a masquerade or any event where appearances take center stage often highlights an important life lesson I’ve learned: what we see on the surface rarely reveals the full story. Much like the mask at a masquerade ball, people often present a facade that hides their true selves. This masks the heart behind their appearance. Drawing from my own experience at an opera inspired by The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I realized the value of seeing beyond physical beauty and external adornments like gowns or masks. It also reminds me, and anyone reading, that each person deserves kindness and respect simply for their inherent worth. The affirmations I hold dear, such as "You are worthy," "You are enough," and "Your story matters," are more than slogans; they represent an important mindset. They remind us to honor our own hearts and encourage others to do the same.
