Buffing the META DPS Is CRAZY 💀
Okay, so I just spent a few hours diving deep into Marvel Rivals after the latest update, specifically to see what this Psylocke buff was all about! When I first read about her Sai's Ultimate Ability getting 'slightly more float and more sting' and, crucially, a reduced 'self-slow rate during Dance of the Butterfly (Ultimate)', I was cautiously optimistic. But after actually playing her, I can confidently say it's a game-changer! Before this update, using Psylocke's ultimate felt a bit clunky. You'd commit, deal great damage, but sometimes feel like a sitting duck due to that self-slow. It was a high-risk, high-reward move. Now? It feels incredibly fluid. That 15% reduction in self-slow might not sound like much on paper, but in the heat of battle, it makes a world of difference. I found myself able to reposition much faster, chase down elusive targets, and even escape sticky situations that would have previously meant my demise mid-ult. For anyone wondering if Psylocke is now a top-tier DPS, I'd argue she's definitely competing for that spot. The increased 'float' means you have better aerial control during the ultimate, making it easier to track enemies who are trying to dodge or use verticality. And the 'sting' – oh, the sting! Her damage output during the ultimate feels consistently higher, allowing for more confident eliminations. I managed to secure a triple kill in one ultimate sequence earlier today, something I rarely pulled off before. This buff encourages a much more aggressive Psylocke playstyle. Previously, you had to be very selective with your ultimate, often saving it for team fights or isolated targets. Now, with the reduced self-slow, you can use it more reactively. I've started using it to initiate skirmishes, knowing I can disengage or readjust quickly if needed. It also pairs incredibly well with characters who can provide shields or heals, as you're now less vulnerable during your biggest damage window. If you're a Psylocke main, or even if you've been on the fence about trying her, now is absolutely the time. Experiment with different ultimate timings, don't be afraid to use it to pressure backlines, and really lean into that newfound mobility. I've found that practicing the ultimate's trajectory in the training range helps a lot, especially with the 'float' changes. The META is definitely shifting, and Psylocke is right at the forefront. Go try it out – you won't regret it!
