ANSWER THOSE BUSINESS CALLS!
Y’all, I had what I believe is HUGE moment in my business just now! For the first time ever, I got a call from an M&A company looking to acquire businesses like mine. Now, I’m not planning to sell anytime soon, but my ultimate goal has always been to build something that a larger company would want to acquire.
What really got me excited was the timing—I saw someone in Washington, D.C., pop up in the visitor IP addresses on my website, and minutes later, I got the call. It was one of those moments where I couldn’t help but think, Wow, somebody somewhere is taking note of my progress. When the guy called, I told him, ‘Honestly, I’m having a great time running my firm, but yes, I’m focused on building in a way that attracts buyers.’ And you know what he said? ‘Well, it looks like you’re on the right track.’ 😩🫶🏾
That was all the validation I needed to remind me that I’m moving in the right direction. I usually just get calls from funding companies trying to lend me money at crazy interest rates, so I wasn’t even going to answer. But one of my goals for 2025 is to PICK UP THE PHONE—because there might be money or opportunity on the other end. And this time, there was.
Here’s the lesson:
1️⃣ Build your business as if it’s already worth acquiring—even if you’re not planning to sell.
2️⃣ Pay attention to who’s watching your moves—whether it’s website visitors, followers, or industry buzz.
3️⃣ ANSWER THAT PHONE! Don’t block your blessings by assuming every call is a waste of time.
This is just the beginning, and moments like this remind me why I started. Trust the process, stay consistent, and celebrate every milestone, big or small. You never know who’s watching or when opportunity will call. ✨
