Mazlyn had several of her surgeries back in April, she had right right open triceps tenotomy with posterior elbow capsule release, open FCU and palmaris longus release, bilateral MHL, posterior medial release, abductor hallucis releasion and open toe flexor tenotomy 1-5. In December her bilateral lower extremities demonstrated knees resting in about 70 degrees of flexion. Able to extend both knees about 20 degrees past this point, resulting in about 50 degrees shy of full knee extension. Now Knees are with 18 degree flexion contracture right, 10 left. She was at 60-70 degrees on the right for elbow flexion. Currently at -15 contracture and 125 degrees on flexion.

We will return soon for posterior release of the left elbow with triceps tenotomy, ulnar nerve transposition, and posterior capsule release. A contracture is a condition where the range of motion of a joint is limited. It may be unable to fully or partially extend or bend. While there is no cure for arthrogryposis, there are nonoperative and operative methods aimed to improve range of motion and function at the sites of contracture.
