⭐️ Cheap Play Gym Hacks To Make Our Lovevery Fun
Okay sooo… I love the idea of the Lovevery Play Gym, but when we set it up I was like… this is kinda boring AF.
My daughter (12 weeks) would lay there staring into the void, and I kept thinking, “I paid $150 for this?”
And don’t get me started on the accessory prices 👀
But! With a few super cheap additions, it’s suddenly WAY more engaging and I’m finally like, “Okay yes, I’m glad I registered for this.”
✨ Hack 1 : Tie a Contrast Soft Book Across the Top
I took a $5–$10 high-contrast fabric accordion book and literally tied it across the top bar.
➡️ Instant visual interest
➡️ She actually looks UP now
➡️ Gives her something stimulating to track
Such a game-changer for babies who get bored easily.
✨ Hack 2 : Add a Spiral Car-Seat Toy to One Arm
I wrapped a $15ish spiral car seat toy around one of the arms and WOW.
She can actually reach things.
It brings the toys down lower and adds textures + sounds without buying overpriced accessories.
✨ Hack 3 : Don’t Attach the Arms to the Mat
This is my controversial take 😂 but it works.
Leaving the arms unattached means:
✔️ Easier storage
✔️ I can place the mat over the top when not in use (pet-owners… this is EVERYTHING for keeping it clean)
✔️ I can move the arch instead of moving the baby — so her toy focus changes and she doesn’t get overstimulated
She engages SO much more now that her environment changes instead of me repositioning her constantly.
✨ Final Thoughts
Before these little tweaks I honestly thought the play gym was pointless. She barely looked at anything. But once I added some cheap, easy enhancements and switched the toy positions around, she finally became actually entertained.
