Shenandoah National Park (for dummies) (aka me)
Shenandoah National Park is one of the best places to go in Virginia (in my opinion). Always do your research before leaving for a trip like this! Here are my top three tips!
1. Allow yourself plenty of time to get into the park. Lines can be long, especially at peak season. Additionally, have patience and follow all traffic regulations on Skyline Drive. It makes the experience better for all travelers!
2. Research the difficulty of the trails you are going to hike! I didn’t do this and Bearfence Mountain was tough due to its many rock scrambles that I was unprepared for. I still had an amazing time and loved it!
3. If you live near the park, invest in an annual pass! I got mine in October and have been twice since then, so it has already paid for itself! The cost for a single day is about 30 dollars, whereas the annual pass is about 50.
Shenandoah is such a beautiful area and worth the visit!
