Living in a society heavily influenced by patriarchal norms and long-standing political hierarchies, I've often noticed the persistent belief that older white men inherently provide the stability and protection our communities need. However, recent political events have challenged this assumption and highlighted the risks of placing unconditional trust in such a demographic. For example, the current political climate in the USA shows how some leaders, especially those supported by strong ideological factions such as Christian fundamentalists, may act in ways that undermine social unity and escalate international tensions. The acknowledgment that weapons might be sent to conflict zones, as suggested by reports like "THE WHI JSE WASH 6TH A g officers across Iran | Join Tousi TV+ ONFIRMS TRUMP SENT WEAPONS TO IRA," raises serious concerns about the path toward potential global conflicts such as WWIII. This realization encourages me to critically evaluate the often romanticized idea of leadership based solely on age, race, and gender. The impact on vulnerable populations, including minorities who face systemic abuse and discrimination, cannot be ignored. It has become clear through personal experience and observation that diverse leadership reflecting a broader range of voices and experiences is necessary to address these complex issues more effectively. Engaging with community discussions under hashtags like #patriarchy, #whitenationalist, and #USA has also revealed how deeply ingrained these narratives are, often reinforcing biased power structures. Yet, resistance and awareness continue to grow, emphasizing the importance of questioning authority figures rather than blindly following them. In sharing these reflections, I hope to encourage others to rethink the conventional wisdom around leadership qualifications and the implications of continuing to endorse senile white men as predominant political figures. Promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels might be the key to mitigating abuse, preventing wars, and building a truly protective society for all its members.
