Capitalists aren’t your friend

Living in a capitalist society often feels like being trapped in a system designed to pit people against each other. Many Americans, myself included, have noticed how clever advertisements and political rhetoric can mask the underlying realities of economic inequality. It’s hard not to feel betrayed when those supposedly 'for the working class'—whether politicians or corporate lawyers—seem to prioritize their own gain instead. One personal observation is how settlement checks or government relief funds, while seemingly helpful, often fall short of truly addressing the bigger issues like mounting debts and rising living costs. These measures might provide temporary relief but rarely disrupt the cycle where the wealthy continue to accumulate power and resources. This is especially evident when you consider how corporate giants and their legal allies shape narratives to maintain the status quo. The hierarchy created by capitalism is very real and very divisive. It encourages competition and mistrust, making us less likely to unite against systemic problems. I've seen firsthand how people can be distracted by superficial gains or manipulated by media messages that obscure the deeper economic forces at play. It’s like a game where the rules are rigged, ensuring the rich get richer while the average person struggles to keep up. Understanding this dynamic has encouraged me and others to look beyond surface-level solutions and question who truly benefits from the policies and systems in place. There’s also a growing awareness that real change requires collective effort to challenge the structural inequalities embedded in capitalism. Only then can we hope to move toward a fairer and more just society, rather than one that continually divides and exploits its citizens.
