Trans 🏳️⚧️ rights 4 all! ⚧️
It took me many years to uninternalize the dehumanization of others who find excuses for their #transphobia to make me and other #tgnci folks feel like we are less than #humxn . To the point when we raise our voices, are rightfully #angry 😡 or #hurt we are instead pathologized by our enemies. Trans 🏳️⚧️ Justice ⚧️ is also gender Justice for all people regardless of identity. Republicans are often trying to take rights / bodily autonomy from both cis women as they are for trans 🏳️⚧️ folks. And yet terfs are trying to divide us, when feminists are meant to alleviate the gender divide and remove the segregation of gender and the oppression we all endure from patriarchy.
From personal experience, unlearning the internalized dehumanization caused by transphobia can be a long and painful journey. It's not just about fighting for recognition, but reclaiming the humanity that society often denies to trans and TGNCI individuals. I’ve seen how anger and hurt expressed by marginalized communities are frequently misunderstood or pathologized, which only deepens the stigma and isolation. It's crucial to recognize that trans justice is intrinsically tied to gender justice for everyone. The struggles faced by cisgender women, especially regarding bodily autonomy, parallel those encountered by trans people, making it important to build alliances rather than divisions. For example, many legislative attempts threaten the rights of both cis women and transgender individuals, revealing how patriarchy targets all who challenge traditional gender roles. Moreover, combating trans rights discrimination requires addressing the underlying societal fears and misinformation spread by groups like TERFs, who seek to create discord rather than unity. Feminism, at its core, should strive to dismantle gender oppression and fragmentation, fostering solidarity across all identities. In practical terms, advocating for trans rights means supporting inclusive policies, educating others about the realities of gender diversity, and standing against all forms of gender-based discrimination and violence. It also means listening to and amplifying trans voices, acknowledging their pain and resilience. Ultimately, embracing trans rights as human rights promotes a more just and equitable society where everyone—regardless of gender identity—can live with dignity, safety, and autonomy. This vision benefits all of us by challenging harmful norms and opening space for authentic self-expression and mutual respect.
