Hair growth

🤍 My Story: Hey yall! My name is Myelia and I made the decision to start all over with my hair journey. There were multiple reasons why I shaved it but I wanted to go natural so off it went

🤍 How I Felt: after I started I instantly regretted it lol and cried. But there was no turning back. I had to learn that I’m no Sampson and hair doesn’t make a woman. I learned to embrace it. And actually started to love it. Learned more about my particular hair pattern and what worked for me. I spent more self care days and learned what made my hair take off

🤍 My Takeaways: There isn’t a magic oil, pill or product. It’s actually quite simple once you get to the root of the issue. In my case it was multiple. Start within! Health and hydration. After that it was simple but had to stay consistent!

Let me know if you all wanna know more in detail how I really got my hair to take off and grow. #haircare #naturalhair #hairjourney #growhair #hairgrowth #haircareroutine

... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you asked for more details on how I really got my hair to take off after shaving it, and I'm excited to share more of my personal journey and practical tips. When I mentioned there's no magic pill, I truly meant it, but there are definitely strategies that made a huge difference for my hair. After that initial shock on 'Day 01' and those first couple of 'Week 02' pictures, I knew I had to get serious. My focus shifted from just wanting length to truly understanding my hair. For me, 'health and hydration' wasn't just a phrase; it was a daily commitment. I started with a consistent wash-day routine. I found that co-washing between washes helped a lot, especially when my hair was still very short, around 'Week 04'. It kept it moisturized without stripping it. Once I hit the 'Month 03 TWA stage,' managing shrinkage and keeping my scalp healthy became key. I learned to love deep conditioning with heat; it really helped my hair absorb moisture. I also started protective styling early on—things like mini twists or finger coils were lifesavers to retain length and protect those delicate ends. I wasn't doing anything drastic, just consistent tender loving care. Nutrition played a bigger role than I initially thought. I focused on a balanced diet rich in leafy greens, healthy fats, and plenty of water. While I didn't rely on specific supplements, I ensured I was getting enough biotin and vitamins through my food. This 'start within' approach really helped lay the foundation for strong growth, which I started noticing more significantly by 'Month 06' and then 'Month 08'. One of the biggest takeaways for me was patience and observation. I didn't just apply products; I paid attention to how my hair reacted. Did it feel softer? Was it retaining moisture? This helped me identify what really 'worked for me' rather than just following trends. By the time I reached the '1 Year' mark, my hair felt completely transformed. The '18 months' mark, and now my 'Current length', are milestones I honestly never thought I'd reach when I first shaved it all off. If you're on your own hair growth journey, especially starting from scratch, my advice is to embrace every stage. Take pictures regularly, just like I did, to truly see your 'hair growth progress weeks' by week and month by month. It's incredibly motivating to look back at 'Week 02' and compare it to 'Month 08'. Don't be afraid to experiment with natural ingredients, like aloe vera or rice water rinses, if they suit your hair type. Remember, consistency beats intensity every single time. And most importantly, celebrate every little bit of progress!
