How I’m Redefining my Holiday Aesthetic

I’ve been in my decorating era and it’s been fun to see how my holiday decor style has evolved over the years. I’ve been paying more attention to details, color coordinating and the feeling it brings to the space 🄰.

Starting with my Christmas tree šŸŽ„ ; I made my ornaments into garlands and added ribbons for a fuller look. My tablescape features table cloth napkins folded in a Christmas tree shape, and more details to the table compared to previous years, like small gift boxes, pine cones and festive candle holder šŸ•Æļø . I also decorated my kitchen this year, which I usually don’t do and it looks great.

I love how everything turned out. My home feels warm, cozy and festive; a perfect tone for the holiday. It’s giving adult Christmas without taking away any of the wholesome holiday vibes šŸŽ‰.

... Read moreHoliday decorating can truly transform the atmosphere of your home during the festive season. One key element to redefining your holiday aesthetic is focusing on cohesive color schemes and incorporating textures that invite warmth and cheer. For example, using ribbon garlands on your Christmas tree not only adds fullness but also enhances color coordination and depth. Similarly, detailed tablescapes elevate holiday meals by combining visual appeal with practicality—folded napkins in Christmas tree shapes, paired with natural elements like pine cones and small gift boxes, bring a thoughtful, handcrafted feel to the dining table. Don’t overlook often neglected areas like the kitchen; simple touches such as festive candle holders, small wreaths, or seasonal dish towels can extend the holiday spirit throughout your entire home. This holistic approach makes your space feel more connected and immersive. If you aim for an 'adult Christmas,' try blending traditional holiday elements with modern or minimalistic designs to keep it elegant yet warm. Incorporating soft lighting, natural materials like wood and greenery, and subtle metallic accents can create a sophisticated holiday ambiance that still feels inviting and lively. It’s also important to regularly update your style by reflecting on what holiday decor resonated with you in the past and what you’d like to change. This reflective approach to decorating allows your home to evolve and feel more personalized each year, making the holidays even more special. Embracing these creative ideas will help you achieve a festive, cozy, and welcoming home environment that truly captures the spirit of the season.
