Small Home Upgrades That Make A Big Difference

Upgrading your home 🏠 doesn’t have to be a big or expensive of a project. Sometimes small is better. These little upgrades I made to my house were so easy to do and gives it more character. I didn’t have to spend a lot either ☺️

Wallpaper peel and stick- I put this up in my guest bathroom. It adds color, texture and depth to the space, really elevates my half bathroom in a way that paint can’t.

Floating shelves - these I put up in my upstairs bathroom. It makes the room look cleaner and spacious. It turned the empty wall into a display space for candles, small plants and frames.

Knobs - I plan on doing more of these but changing the knobs from plain white to gold makes the house feel warm and elegant

Mirror 🪞 - I have mirrors everywhere 😅. One my favorite home decoration. It makes the space feel bigger and brightens up the room. Also adds symmetry and it’s perfect for entryway for a “last minute look” before leaving the house.

Curtains +holdback - curtains help frame the windows, with the holdback you control the lights, temperature in the room and depending on the texture of the curtain, it elevates the space to feel luxe or airy.

Which one of these have you added to your home?

One of the easiest and most impactful ways to enhance your home is by using peel and stick wallpaper. This option adds depth, color, and texture to otherwise plain walls and is especially effective in small areas like guest bathrooms. Since it is removable, it’s a perfect choice for renters or those who like to change their decor frequently. Floating shelves serve a dual purpose by providing extra storage and a place to showcase your favorite decor elements like candles, plants, or picture frames. They instantly make a room feel more organized and spacious by utilizing vertical wall space efficiently. Replacing old or plain door knobs with warmer, stylish options such as gold or brass can elevate the feel of your home from ordinary to elegant. These small details contribute significantly to the overall aesthetic and ambiance. Mirrors are another versatile upgrade that brighten rooms by reflecting light and visually enlarging spaces. Strategically placing mirrors in entryways not only improves functionality for a last-minute look but enhances symmetry and style throughout your home. Finally, installing curtains with holdbacks lets you control natural light and room temperature while framing your windows beautifully. Depending on the fabric and texture, curtains can create an airy, cozy, or luxurious vibe. Holdbacks add a decorative touch and allow you to play with light flow easily. By focusing on these simple and budget-friendly upgrades—peel and stick wallpaper, floating shelves, new knobs, mirrors, and curtains with holdbacks—you can dramatically improve your home’s character and comfort without a major renovation. These ideas prove that small changes really do make a big difference when it comes to home transformation.
