Quiet time with God

... Read moreIt’s so true, isn't it? We often find ourselves saying, 'I want to spend eternity with God,' yet we struggle to find quiet time for Him in our busy daily lives. I know I’ve been there, feeling the guilt of rushing through my mornings or letting the day's demands push my spiritual reflection aside. But as I’ve learned, God isn't just a reward for later; He’s a present comfort and guide, right here and now, just like the original post beautifully reminds us. This year, I'm really trying to be intentional about carving out those precious moments. So, how do we actually make that happen? For me, spending quiet time with God doesn't have to look perfect every day. Sometimes it's a dedicated hour, other times it's just 15 minutes of focused presence. The key is consistency and a heart ready to connect. I've found a few things that really help me. First, setting a specific time and place. It could be first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee, or during my lunch break, or even just before bed. Having a designated spot, whether it's a cozy corner or just my bed, helps signal to my mind that it's 'God time.' Second, I focus on what I can meditate on to spend time with God. It's not just about reading; it's about reflecting. I love picking a short scripture passage, like Psalm 107:2 which says, 'Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story,' and just dwelling on it. What does it mean for me today? How has God redeemed my story? Sometimes I'll just sit in silence, inviting the Holy Spirit to speak to me, or I'll journal my thoughts and prayers. This really helps with my spiritual growth. Third, I make sure to incorporate gratitude. Even on tough days, finding one or two things to thank God for can completely shift my perspective. It reminds me that He is good, always. This practice has given me so much christian motivation. Finding quiet time with God is a journey, not a destination. There will be days when it feels natural and deeply fulfilling, and other days when distractions seem overwhelming. But remember that powerful statement from the image: 'We struggle to find quiet time for God but want to spend eternity with Him... Be intentional this year.' That phrase really struck a chord with me. It’s a gentle reminder that every small, intentional step we take to connect with Him matters. He cherishes every moment we offer, and in return, He fills us with His peace and presence, making Him truly our reward, both in heaven and right here on Earth.
