“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”
Someone can have a huge advantage from knowing the right people who are willing to guide them along rights paths.
But these people usually guide those who they like and trust. So if they don’t like and trust you, they probably won’t guide you.
This is in direct opposition with how God works. Psalm 23:3 says that He leads us along right paths not according to our own merit or who we are, but because of who God is. Nothing we can do will cause God to stop leading us along right paths. He is not going to give up on us when we fail like an earthly mentor would. He will never stop leading us along right paths because He can’t go against His own identity. If you let Him, He will be your guide forever.
