GIRLLLLL!!! Yesterday, Madame Mysti put SEVEN fragrances through the Perfume Roulette paper-strip challenge, and I asked YOU to help choose which one deserved a skin test!
Well, I received votes for Fairy Tale and Brown Orchid Blanc Edition.
And because I personally wanted to test Brown Orchid, too, I decided something...
WHY CHOOSE JUST ONE?! 🤣💚
So today we had a DOUBLE SKIN TEST!
🌸 RIGHT ARM: FAIRY TALE
🤍 LEFT ARM: BROWN ORCHID BLANC EDITION
And when I say I sprayed these fragrances, I mean I absolutely DOUSED MYSELF!
We're talking at least 12 sprays PER ARM, possibly more! My arms were literally WET, and Fairy Tale was dripping off my fingers!
That's how heavily I applied them!
⏰ 9:30 AM — THE FIRST SPRAY-DOWN
Both fragrances smelled beautiful!
Fairy Tale was that gorgeous, sweet, airy, feminine, springtime floral I loved during yesterday's paper test.
Brown Orchid had that beautiful, clean, perfumey floral character that made me want to rediscover it.
Then I got busy working and completely forgot to check them!
But we did have an unexpected guest judge...
💕 JEREMY ENTERS THE CHAT!
Around 10:00–10:30 AM, Jeremy came home from the gym, walked into the house, and immediately said it smelled REALLY GOOD!
I told him, "IT'S ME!" 😂
He came over, smelled BOTH arms, and picked...
🌸 FAIRY TALE! 🌸
Of course he did! He loves sweeter fragrances on me!
So we know the perfumes were noticeable to Jeremy within roughly the first hour after application.
⏰ AROUND 2:30 PM — THE FORGOTTEN CHECK-IN!
I was working, got distracted, and suddenly realized I hadn't checked my perfumes!
I lifted my right arm to my nose...
FAIRY TALE?! WHERE DID YOU GO?! 😳
That beautiful sweet, floral fragrance was GONE! Instead, my skin had an odd smell that didn't resemble the perfume at all.
Then I checked my left arm...
BROWN ORCHID?!
There was only the faintest trace of floral remaining. Nothing like the beautiful opening!
And no, I wasn't checking every 30 minutes, so I can't tell you exactly when they faded.
I just know what was left when I finally checked!
💦 ROUND TWO — ANOTHER MEGA SPRAY-DOWN!
I reapplied BOTH fragrances heavily.
Because apparently the first perfume bath wasn't enough! 🤣
And later in the afternoon?
🌸 Fairy Tale: That beautiful sweetness was gone again, replaced by an odd scent on my skin.
🤍 Brown Orchid: Only a VERY, VERY faint floral remained.
Neither smelled like its gorgeous initial spray.
🔮 THE FINAL VERDICT!
🌸 JEREMY'S FAVORITE: Fairy Tale!
🤍 SLIGHT EDGE FOR REMAINING SCENT: Brown Orchid!
💚 MY BIGGEST DISCOVERY: I absolutely LOVE the way both perfumes open, but their original scent didn't stick around on my skin the way I'd hoped.
Could nose fatigue have played a role? Possibly! But I could smell what was on my arms at the check-ins, and it wasn't the perfume I started with.
And because I forgot to check throughout the morning, I'm not claiming an exact number of hours for either fragrance!
I am someone who LOVES reapplying perfume, so I don't need everything to last all day.
But after TWO mega spray-downs? I definitely expected a little more!

I have Fairy Tale which smells great but it doesn’t last long, 4-6 hours tops. Still like it tho
