Yall, this is a real town! Claflin, KS.
The couple of interactions I had were pleasant... it just took me to a movie scene in my head...it was a cute, quaint little town...No one else there even closely resembled me....it was probably my "Cowboys Jersey"🤣😂🤣🤣But I will say their taste in music was amazing because from some unidentified place, I could hear Prince, 1999 blaring through the town over a loud speaker! It was another one to add to the books...the life of a lady trucker! 🥰 #bonanza #trucker #ladytrucker #driver
Visiting Claflin, KS offers a unique glimpse into small-town America that’s both nostalgic and warmly inviting. Despite its modest size, Claflin boasts several historic spots and signs that caught my attention during a delivery trip. The Bailey Hotel and the Claflin Livery & Feed Stable reflect its rich past, while places like the Bloomer Garage with Mobilgas signage add to the vintage Americana feel. As a lady trucker, I often travel to various towns, and this journey to Claflin stood out because of the peaceful ambiance and the friendly interactions I experienced. What made this visit memorable was the unexpected sound of Prince’s "1999" playing over the town’s loudspeaker—an exciting and rare find that energized the quaint streets. One highlight of Claflin is the presence of old-rooted businesses like the local saloons, which bring character and a sense of community life. The town’s vibe, seemingly frozen in time yet lively with music and smiles, sparked in me a cinematic feeling—as if I had stepped into a classic movie set. Travelers and truckers looking for a break from busy city routes will appreciate Claflin’s calm streets, historic aura, and friendly locals.
