... Read moreAfter diving into the world of DIY laundry detergent, I've realized there's so much more to it than just mixing ingredients! If you're wondering why this homemade washing powder works so well, or how to make it even better, let me share some extra insights from my journey. One of the biggest reasons I switched was the desire for a more natural laundry detergent. Commercial options often contain harsh chemicals and fragrances that can irritate skin or build up on clothes. Making your own means you control exactly what goes into your wash, leading to a truly all natural detergent experience if you choose your ingredients carefully. Plus, the cost savings are incredible – no more shelling out for expensive brand-name detergents! Let's talk about the unsung heroes in this homemade laundry detergent ingredients list. Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda isn't just for cleaning; it's a powerful water softener and detergent booster that helps lift dirt and grime more effectively. Borax, another key component, is fantastic for deodorizing, whitening, and adding an extra punch to your cleaning power. And then there's baking soda – a natural deodorizer and mild abrasive that helps brighten fabrics. The grated Zote soap provides the primary cleaning action and suds. Many users associate Zote with traditional Mexican laundry detergent recipe traditions, highlighting its long-standing effectiveness in household cleaning. Seeing all these powerful ingredients come together in that clear jar labeled 'DiY LAUNDRY DETERGENT' is so satisfying! For those aiming for an even purer scent, consider swapping out the Downy Scent Beads (though they do smell amazing!) for a few drops of essential oils in your wash. Lavender, lemon, or tea tree oil can add a lovely, natural fragrance to your clothes without synthetic chemicals. Just be sure to add them directly to the wash or mix them into the powder right before use for the best results. You might be wondering about diy liquid detergent. While this recipe focuses on a powder, many people also explore liquid homemade options. Powdered detergents, like this one, are often praised for their effectiveness in tackling tough stains and keeping whites bright, often due to the abrasive nature of some ingredients like washing soda and borax. Liquid versions can be great for pre-treating stains, but for a general, powerful wash, this powder really shines. To get the most out of your homemade powder, remember to store it in an airtight container – just like that one with the 'DiY LAUNDRY DETERGENT' label – to prevent clumping and maintain potency. If you have hard water, you might find adding a tiny bit more washing soda or borax helps. I've found that using 1-2 tablespoons per load is usually perfect, but don't hesitate to add an extra scoop for those extra dirty loads after a long day. It’s all about finding what works best for your household! This homemade laundry soap powder truly transforms laundry day into a more sustainable and satisfying chore.

I have been using thins recipes for 10 years 😍 Tip: To level it up after mixing put it into a blender and pulse until its all powder. I It will be the consistency of sand. It ensures even distribution of the scent beads, soap and powder
