My lil routine for now
This is what has been working for me…. My problem was acne, acne scarring, sun damage, and texture…. The professional at my medspa said to focus on one problem at a time don’t try to fix everything at once. First step focus on un aliving all the active acne and and clearing the scarring then go in and fix my pores and preventative anti aging routines. Im excited to see how this laser facial will go :) side note: darker skin can only do 1 or 2 laser facials that wont harm our skin its moxi and BBL. Im also going to try a VI Peel next
Establishing a clear and effective skincare routine is essential, especially when dealing with multiple concerns such as acne, scarring, sun damage, and uneven texture. Many dermatologists advise focusing on one skin issue at a time to avoid overwhelming your skin and to achieve better, more noticeable results. For instance, starting with active acne helps to stop new breakouts and improve skin clarity before moving on to address scarring and texture. A typical morning routine featuring a salicylic acid cleanser is a great choice for its acne-fighting and exfoliating properties, helping penetrate pores and reduce bacteria. Following with a glycolic acid toner helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and brighten skin, while a niacinamide moisturizer can soothe inflammation and improve skin barrier function. Sunscreen is crucial throughout the day, especially when using active ingredients that can increase photosensitivity. In the evening, including retinol once or twice a week encourages skin cell turnover, which can improve acne scars and skin texture over time. Using problem-targeting masks, like clarifying clay masks 1–2 times per month, helps to deep clean pores and reduce excess oil. For individuals with darker skin tones, it is important to choose laser treatments carefully to avoid hyperpigmentation or damage. Treatments like Moxi and Broadband Light (BBL) facials are typically safer options. These laser treatments can safely address pigmentation, texture, and signs of aging when performed by skilled professionals. Additionally, chemical peels such as the VI Peel offer an effective way to renew skin without harsh downtime. Incorporating professional facials, peels, or dermaplaning sessions monthly or as recommended can further improve skin texture and support the effectiveness of your daily skincare. Always consult with a skincare professional about your skin type and concerns before starting new treatments to ensure safety and effectiveness. Remember, consistency and patience are key. Skincare is a journey, and combining a well-tailored home routine with professional treatments can lead to healthier, clearer, and more radiant skin over time.
