Hair Stylist fried my hair off!
Warning long post alert:
I think I’m finally ready to talk about one of the worst experiences I’ve experienced in my life 2 months ago.
I decided to stop coloring my hair and grow my grays out so I set up a consultation with Trish Villarreal (32yrs.experience from Capri) owner of West Spa Suites to see if she could blend my grays and black to make it look more balanced I wanted to go full gray eventually. She took a sample of my hair and we made an appointment a week later.
She told me it would be 4-5 hours. So 9 hours later I leave devastated bawling my eyes out and with SHORT Damaged hair that I’ve never had! Worst feeling ever I’ve had long hair my whole life!
She apologized, asked if I used henna in my hair and I said not that I know of, I even showed her all the products prior to the appointment and she never mentioned It until after she damaged my hair saying that I must have that’s why it happened (not because she was at fault) Apparently it is my fault for putting my trust in a hairstylist who Is supposed to be the professional.
Ive been wearing wigs everyday or just not going anywhere because I’m embarrassed and emotionally not ready to face the world with hair I didn’t Choose and have no idea how to style it.
I just don’t want anyone else going through what I had to, be very careful what professional you decide to go with for your hair because once it’s gone you can’t fix it just a long process of regrowing!
Choosing the right hairstylist is crucial for maintaining the health and appearance of your hair. Many individuals experience similar setbacks, often blaming themselves instead of the stylist. It's essential to communicate openly about your hair history and expectations before any treatment. Research potential stylists by checking reviews, looking at before-and-after photos, and verifying their certifications and experience. If you're planning on transitioning to gray hair or making any significant changes, consider consulting multiple professionals. They can offer insights into the process and help set realistic expectations. Remember, hair can take years to grow back, and the journey can be distressing. Explore alternatives like wigs or hairpieces during the waiting period. It's vital to prioritize your mental well-being during this time. Lastly, always inquire about the products used on your hair and any potential interactions with treatments you're considering. Empower yourself with knowledge and make informed decisions to avoid painful experiences.
