Is This a Social Experiment…?
It seems like with every new iPhone Apple comes out with, they always make some overpriced accessories to go with it.

I mean sometime ago they came out with that crossbody strap that costs like $60…for a thin looking strap. I’m sorry but I wouldn’t trust it to not break especially given how expensive their phones are.

Now it’s another crossbody accessory but I’ll give it props on the fact that it looks less fragile than the other one but it’s still extremely overpriced. If people are willing to pay $230 for it then what’s the issue with paying a crocheter to make one(it’ll probably be cheaper) or making it yourself?

Idk I feel like Apple is becoming a social experiment atp like every other high-end brand or trying to rip-off poorer folks😅
But if you really like it & have the funds to buy it then go right ahead! I’m just sharing my thoughts on it.
Okay, so we've talked about Apple's pricey crossbody straps, and my mind keeps going back to whether these accessories are truly worth the hefty price tag. It's not just the straps, either! I've been thinking about other Apple accessories that often get a lot of buzz but might just be... well, overrated. Take the Apple Polishing Cloth, for example. While it might be super soft, paying that much for a piece of cloth when you can get similar results with a microfiber cloth for a fraction of the cost just doesn't sit right with me. Or what about some of the official MagSafe wallets? They look sleek, but for the price, I've seen so many durable and stylish third-party magnetic wallets that offer more features or better value. My personal philosophy has become: always ask, 'Is this accessory genuinely enhancing my iPhone experience in a way that justifies the cost?' Sometimes, the answer is yes, like for AirPods Pro if you really value the ecosystem and noise cancellation. But often, especially with smaller, more aesthetic items, there are fantastic alternatives. For those who appreciate the idea of an iPhone strap but balk at Apple's prices (whether it's the $99 version or the even pricier ones), there are so many creative solutions! I've stumbled upon many tutorials online for a 'Crochet iPhone pocket' or even just simple, strong phone lanyards from small businesses. You can often find ones with unique designs, personal touches, and much better durability for a fraction of the cost. It's amazing what you can find when you look beyond the official 'webpage apple' accessories and explore platforms like Etsy or even learn to make one yourself! Think about the practicality. Do you really need a designer strap (like something from an 'issey miyake' collection, but for a phone) that costs more than some budget phones? Or would a robust, affordable, and perhaps even customizable strap do the job just as well, if not better? I've seen some incredible, durable crossbody phone cases from brands that aren't Apple, and they offer protection and convenience without breaking the bank. Before you splurge on the next big Apple accessory, I always recommend doing a quick search for alternatives. You might be surprised by the quality and innovation happening outside of Apple's walled garden. It's all about finding what truly works for you and your budget, rather than just buying into the hype.

I don't know about if it is, was, or becoming a social experiment, but I do know that it has a new apple phone after the next and now it is at like what, iphone16 or 17, and some people stand in long lines to just go back when they release another one? hahaha.
