What is piling? How important?
After the engineers have analyzed the soil, they can choose the type of pile to build the house.

Piling is one of the most important processes in construction.
This involves bringing a pile, a long stick structure made of materials such as reinforced concrete, wood or iron, to the ground deep to a strong and stable layer of soil.
The main benefits we need to pay attention to are the safety of the residents.
✔️ support all building weights, from roofs, beams, pillars, floors, walls and so on.
✔️ transfer weight to the solid soil layer.
Usually, the surface soil is usually soft soil with low load strength; the pilings serve to pass all the weight of the house down into a deep layer of solid soil, allowing the foundation to carry the weight safely.
✔️ prevent building subsidence.
The use of piles prevents houses from collapsing with the collapse of topsoil, especially in areas with soft soil, such as lowland areas or Bangkok areas.
✔️ prevent unequal subsidence that could lead to
- Cracked walls, vertical, oblique or horizontal.
- There's a gap between the floor and the house.
- Twisted doors and windows, making it difficult to open and close.
🟠 piles used in home construction, there are generally 2 types.
1. Hammered piles
• Use a finished pile to hammer or press into the soil with a machine such as a crane.
✔️ quick installation.
✔️ not very high price.
✔️ piles are high strength.
✖️ cause tremors and noise, which can affect side buildings.
2. Drill piles
• Use the method to first drill the soil into a hole, and then pour concrete and reinforced iron into the hole to cast the pile in place.
✔️ reduce tremors. Suitable for urban areas or close to other homes.
✔️ can be used with piles that are larger or deeper.
✖️ have more complicated procedures.
✖️ cost more.
All of this, the structural engineer will be responsible for calculating and designing the entire structure of the building, including its foundations.
In my view, this is a very important step, because the strongest houses are not measured at the height of the roof, but at the depth of the piles.

Think about work, no time or housing problems. Think about it.
