A Dollar Tree Thriller That Surprised Me

YA survival thrillers will always get me. In Come Out, Come Out, Whatever You Are, five contestants compete on a reality show called “It’s Behind You,” where they have to survive a night inside a creepy cave system designed like a twisted amusement park attraction.

Lex’s sarcasm and humor made her such a fun FMC, and I loved the interview segments with the producer before the show. While it wasn’t really scary (more mystery than horror), the tension builds once the contestants realize the caves aren’t the only danger… someone is taking them out one by one.

Overall a fun read and the fact that it was a Dollar Tree find makes it even better. Definitely keeping this one for a spooky season reread. #booktok #yahorror #horrorbooks
