Oven Roasted Garlic Cabbage Steaks

Ingredients

1 large red or green cabbage

3 tablespoon olive oil (or melted butter for a richer flavor)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp black pepper

Optional toppings : grated Parmesan cheese,red pepper flakes, or fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven at 400° line a large sheet of parchment paper or (lightly oil it to prevent caking)

2. Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. using a sharp knife, slice the cabbage into 3/4 thick rounds or steaks. Be careful to keep the core intact it holds the steaks together.

3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil garlic powder smoked paprika onion powder thyme, salt, and black pepper brush this flavorful mixture generously on both sides of the cabbage crispy.

4. Place the cabbage steaks on prepared baking sheet in a single layer, leaving space between each steak roast them in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, though till edges are golden brown and slightly crispy

5.. Remove the cabbage steaks from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes sprinkle optional toppings:Parmesan cheese, red pepper, or chop parsley serve immediately.

The steaks can also be air fried( for a crispier taste

1. preheat your air fryer 375 for about 3 to 5 minutes.

2. same steps as oven method to slice and brush with seasoning mixture.

3. Arrange the cabbage steaks in a single layer in the air fryer depending on the size of your air fryer. You might need to cook in batches.

time to start cabbage steaks for 15 minutes, flipping them one halfway through.Check for crispy golden edges before removing.
