As someone who lived in the city their whole life, I’ve never tried IHOP until recently to be honest IHOP left a really good taste on my tongue. The food was absolutely delicious. I would say the only thing to look at is if you’re someone who likes hot chocolate with milk instead of water, you probably won’t like their hot chocolate, the crepe surprise me the most you would think it’s super sweet or it’s just too sugary, but it was actually a perfect balance. It wasn’t sugary at all. It was actually very enjoyable the PANCAKE YALLL as someone who does not like pancakes they were really good. I enjoyed them and the sampler combo to me is probably one of the best things they offer you get a little bit of everything 🍳🥞☕️
... Read moreOkay, so you guys know how I just had my first IHOP experience and was totally blown away? Well, I wanted to dive a little deeper into some of the menu items that really stood out, especially since so many of you asked about the hot chocolate and those incredible cinnamon bun crepes!
First up, let's talk about the ihop hot chocolate. The original review mentioned that if you prefer a milk-based hot chocolate, you might be surprised. But let me tell you, what arrived at our table looked absolutely divine! Imaging two cups of rich, dark hot chocolate, generously topped with that fluffy, dreamy whipped cream. The OCR even picked up on how highly-rated it was, and for good reason! While it might not be the super thick, creamy hot chocolate some are used to from a coffee shop, it had a comforting, classic feel. The whipped cream added that perfect touch of sweetness and creaminess that really elevated the whole drink. Honestly, it was the perfect companion to all the breakfast goodies, providing a cozy warmth without being overly heavy. If you're like me and appreciate a good balance, definitely give it a try – just manage your expectations if you're a strict 'milk only' hot chocolate person. But with that mountain of whipped cream, who can complain?
Now, for the star of the show that truly surprised me: the cinnamon bun crepes! You know how sometimes dessert crepes can be overwhelmingly sweet? That was my biggest fear. But these were a game-changer. The OCR description nails it: "A rolled cinna-bun crepe with cheesecake filling is presented on a white plate. It's garnished with fresh sliced strawberries, a creamy white sauce, and a dusting of powdered sugar, rated 9.5/10." Seriously, the presentation alone was tempting. The magic was in that rich, tangy cheesecake filling tucked inside the soft, warm crepe. It wasn't just cinnamon; the cream cheese added a delightful tang that cut through any potential sweetness, creating that "perfect balance" I raved about. And those fresh sliced strawberries? They weren't just for show; they added a burst of fresh, fruity flavor that brightened everything up. The creamy white sauce and powdered sugar dusting were the final touches, making each bite feel indulgent without being cloying. If you're looking for something sweet but sophisticated, these are a must-try. They completely changed my mind about dessert crepes!
Beyond these two stars, I have to give another shout-out to the pancakes. As someone who never orders pancakes, seeing that stack of golden-brown pancakes with a pat of butter on top (10/10 according to the OCR!) was honestly tempting. And they lived up to the hype! They were incredibly fluffy, light, and had that perfect subtle sweetness that didn't feel heavy. And for those who love variety, the sampler combo plate is genius. Mine came with perfectly scrambled eggs topped with melted shredded cheese, crispy bacon strips, and golden-brown hash browns. Plus, you get sausage and ham in some versions! It’s like a breakfast feast all on one plate, and everything was cooked to perfection. It’s definitely a testament to IHOP’s ability to deliver comforting, delicious breakfast any time of day. My first IHOP visit was truly a revelation, and I'm already planning my next trip to try more!
