I Made “HISS” By Megan Thee Stallion Poetic🖤✍🏽 by turning it into a blackout poem.
I’ve written songs from poems before, and I told myself I’d eventually make poetry from articles, blog posts, and songs as well. I never thought the first one I’d do (song wise) would be from a rap song especially with so much cursing and dissing but here we are- lol🤷🏽♀️
When you see Blackout poetry, it’s basically a style of poetry made by using a body of text, erasing or “blacking out” the words, and the words that are left make the poem. That choice of words is up to you when making one yourself, so one person may come up with a completely different blackout poem than another person using the same body of text.
The process of me making HISS a blackout poem took a lot of focus and going back and forth reading lines with different words but I managed to get the job done and I actually think I like it. When I really sit here read it and think about it, It makes sense to me in a wild way because you never know what you’re going to get when you just start taking words out trying to create a new message or work of art. I look forward to doing this again with another song. I wonder what that one will be?🤔
