I Let 🍋8 Do Something HORRIBLE Against My Ppl✊🏽🤦🏽♀️
Unfortunately, apparently, I let 🍋8 do something horrible against my people and I feel I must come back and…
Do absolutely nothing but say this…
I did not “let them discriminate us” those of you who were in top 3 before my post. Calling another group “others” for the reason you are upset and calling discrimination for is crazy. And idk on my end it’s about the same mix as it was in the beginning of “others” and “us” since we’re doing that here.
My post wasn’t even directed towards the top 3. I looked over the whole leaderboard. My post was a question to lemon8 if that’s what’s qualified because why would people spend time making full blog posts basically when all you have to do is post a bunch of pictures with a couple of words in the caption and can win that way. Many don’t feel like it’s hard word just spending all day posting random pictures with a few words. Come up with a paragraph or something valuable to include with it and still have that many, that’s hard work. You wouldn’t be able to produce that much on your own.
A lot of the posts honestly had nothing to do with the challenge and just made it to fit in by adding the terms and hashtags. If you don’t fall into that category it isn’t about you. If the shoe fits wear it.
To try to threaten them and say count your days and make posts on tiktok etc, and say “a black person brought this up with their complaints” also crazy.
“Black” people have dealt with a lot yes, but every little thing is not discrimination or racism and everything shouldn’t be turned into a race war.
Everythingggg in life is not against us and I don’t agree to those terms and conditions over my life. Im not gonna keep myself in misery thinking every little thing is discrimination or racism against me just bringing more situations for me to feel that way with stuff like this.
My post simply was a genuine, innocent post with my thoughts and opinions on the platform which I’ve done since I’ve joined.
I’ve also read that the leaderboard may not even mean those are the participants who will win because they still go through them and disqualify certain posts so those there may not even be the winners at the end of the challenge. Meaning, the 3 who were “discriminated” against may not have won if they got a lot of posts disqualified. My “complaint” was also about spam content during these challenges.
This is not a challenge for REPARATIONS for “our people” that I’ve complained about and got taken away from “us” it’s simply a spring challenge that several had thoughts and questions about.
This is insane🤷🏽♀️
Do what you feel you gotta do. I’m sure there’s a million other fights more important than a lemon8 spring reset challenge. But go off✊🏽🖤✨
That is all.

Okay, so this whole Lemon8 Spring Challenge situation has really opened my eyes to how quickly things can escalate online, and how important it is to clarify your intentions. When I first shared my thoughts, I genuinely just wanted to ask Lemon8 for some transparency on their challenge criteria. Like, what really counts as a winning post? Because, let's be real, seeing some of the content on the leaderboard made me wonder. I saw the comments, and yeah, it stung to be accused by users like Tahjinay Mikel and Alexia of enabling discrimination. Their screenshots showing "Discrimination on Lemon8?" posts and comments about "others" getting ahead with "Pinterest content" really highlighted the raw emotion behind this. But my point was never about race or 'us vs. them.' It was always about the *content*. Think about it: the challenge rules often emphasize using original photos and creating engaging, valuable posts. So, when you see a leaderboard with names like Mariana, Morgan Ashley, or Morgan racking up points, and then you see other participants reportedly using what looks like "Pinterest content" or just a flood of quick, low-effort pics with minimal captions, it raises questions. Is that fair for those who spend hours crafting detailed blog-style posts? My concern was that if people can win purely by volume or by using unoriginal material, it devalues the hard work others are putting in. This isn't about calling anyone out specifically, but about challenging the platform itself to uphold its own standards. I’ve seen some challenge posts that were clearly just adding relevant hashtags to unrelated content, just trying to "fit in." If the shoe fits, wear it, right? My query was simple: if this is what qualifies, then what's the incentive for creating high-quality, thoughtful content? It’s easy for these online discussions to spiral into something much bigger, and I understand why some saw it through the lens of discrimination. But from my perspective, not every issue on a social media platform needs to become a 'race war.' Sometimes, it's just about wanting fairness and clarity in contests. The OCR also showed posts about healthy hair and smoothies mixed in with the challenge discussion; it just goes to show how diverse the content on Lemon8 is, and how important it is for challenge guidelines to be clear for everyone. What's more, I've heard whispers that the leaderboard isn't the final word. Those top spots held by Mariana, Morgan Ashley, etc., might not even translate to actual wins because Lemon8 apparently reviews posts and can disqualify content. If that's true, then my original concern about spam content and posts not adhering to the challenge rules is even more valid. It means the platform does care about quality, and users should too. So, for anyone feeling frustrated by challenge outcomes or content standards, my advice is this: focus on creating truly original, valuable content. Read the rules carefully, and if you have questions, respectfully ask the platform for clarification. Let's aim for constructive dialogue rather than immediate assumptions of malice or discrimination. Our collective voice can help shape a more equitable and inspiring community here on Lemon8, ensuring that genuine effort and quality content are truly rewarded.

I’m lost. What happened now?
