My Unfurnished Home 🏠
It’s been about 6 months since I’ve moved out of my moms place. And I still haven’t gotten no furniture and decor.
There are days where I feel like a failure because I don’t have my place put together, but there are days that I am forever grateful to even have a roof over my head and just to be able to have a place I can call my own.
In my previous posts many have told me it’ll take a while before I even get my place together, so it helped a lot from me overthinking I need to get everything together asap.
I am going to school and don’t have a coffee table yet so I just used what I can to make a desk for me so I don’t sit in my room and dooms scroll on my phone. 😅

Moving into a new space can be daunting, especially when it remains unfurnished. It’s essential to shift focus from perfection to gratitude and creativity. Start by prioritizing essential needs; for instance, create a makeshift desk from available resources to ensure productivity while studying. Affirmations from friends and online communities are vital; they remind us that establishing a home takes time, and it’s entirely normal to progress at your own pace. Engage with social media trends, such as #normalizenormalhomes, to find others sharing similar experiences. Additionally, consider exploring cost-effective options for furniture and décor. Thrift stores, online marketplaces, and DIY projects can all be excellent resources. Decor can evolve, reflecting your tastes over time, so embrace the impermanent and unpolished aspects of your home journey. Build a sense of community that celebrates authenticity in home environments. The journey of creating a personalized space should be a source of joy, not pressure.
