🚶🏽♀️ Lots of walking
Okay, so you know how some days just feel like an adventure waiting to happen? That’s exactly how my recent trip to Long Beach felt, and the absolute highlight was finally getting to ride The Pike Ferris Wheel! I've seen pictures, but nothing quite prepares you for the real deal. It’s not just a ride; it’s an experience that really ties together a perfect day out by the ocean. I started my morning with a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk – definitely lots of walking, just as planned! The vibe at The Pike at Rainbow Harbor is just electric, even on a weekday. Once I spotted the iconic Long Beach Ferris Wheel towering over everything, I knew where I was headed. The queue wasn't too bad, which was awesome, giving me more time to soak in the views once I was up! Riding it felt so nostalgic and thrilling at the same time. As you ascend, the panoramic views of the harbor, the city skyline, and the vast Pacific Ocean just unfold before you. Seriously, if you're looking for that perfect Instagram moment or just a quiet minute to take it all in, this is it. I got some amazing #unfiltered shots from the top – the kind that don't even need a filter, you know? You can see Catalina Island on a clear day, and the Queen Mary looks majestic from up high. It’s definitely a core memory made. Beyond the ride itself, The Pike area in Long Beach is a treasure trove. After my Ferris wheel adventure, I explored some of the cute shops and grabbed a bite at one of the waterfront restaurants. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re into casual dining or something a bit more upscale. It’s so easy to spend an entire afternoon here, just wandering, people-watching, and enjoying the sea breeze. It really rounded out my afternoon routine perfectly. A little tip for anyone planning a visit: try to go around sunset! I can only imagine how magical the lights of the city and the harbor would look from the Ferris wheel as dusk settles. It’s probably even more #famous for those stunning twilight views. And wear comfy shoes – like I said, there’s lots of walking to do if you want to explore the whole area, from the Aquarium of the Pacific nearby to just enjoying the waterfront. It was truly a fantastic way to cap off my #travelwithme2024 plans and embrace that #summerbod energy with all the walking! Overall, my day at Long Beach, centered around the magnificent Pike Ferris Wheel, was everything I hoped for and more. It’s a simple pleasure that offers incredible value for a fun day out. Highly recommend adding it to your itinerary if you’re in Southern California!
