📍 in the district of Phimai is a great and magnificent ancient site. The name "Phimai" comes from the word "Vimai" or "Vimapur," which appears in the Khmer inscription on the stone plate on the frame of the porch door in front of the stone castle, and also appears in many other inscriptions, perhaps the word for idols or theological sites.

📍 special feature of the stone castle is that it is built facing south, unlike other stone castles facing east, presumably to meet the path cut from Zotharpur, the capital of the Khmer kingdom, which enters the city of Phimai on the south side.

📍 from the inscription and construction art, it indicates that the Pimai Stone Castle began to be built in the late 16th century in the time of King Suryuman I. The castle's artistic form was sinister, the art that flourished at the time, with the characteristics of Angkor Wat art, which was popular in later times, and was added again in about the beginning of the 18th century Buddha, during King Jayavarman VII. The city of Pimai was a city with close ties to the Khmer kingdom. The stone castle was built as a Buddhist monk because of King Suryuman I and King Jayavarman VII's Buddhism. Mahayana religion
