An unexpected Christmas
Sometime life will give you the unimaginable, the unexpected, the unpredictable, but, what’s important is that you stand your ground, be grateful for what you have and cherish the memories of what you had. I celebrated this Christmas without my Mom, it was impossible not having a Christmas where she would video call me or text. I never knew I could make it through but l did. Her beautiful memory will continue to live on in me and I’m grateful I had a Mom like her. I’m grateful I had wonderful friends to celebrate beautiful holiday with.

The holiday season can evoke a spectrum of emotions, especially when loved ones are no longer present. Many individuals experience a mix of joy and sorrow during Christmas. It is essential to acknowledge that it's okay to feel a sense of loss while also embracing the memories of those who have impacted our lives positively. Traditions can be a powerful way to keep a loved one's memory alive, such as cooking their favorite dishes or sharing stories that spark laughter and tears. Engaging in activities that your loved one enjoyed can provide comfort and help create a sense of connection. Moreover, connecting with friends and family can act as a supportive network, turning what can be a lonely time into an opportunity for shared experiences and bonding. Seasonal festivities often bring communities together, highlighting the importance of gratitude and togetherness. Consider participating in community events or volunteering, which can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment during this special time of year. Embracing the spirit of giving can shift focus from personal grief to gratitude for the present relationships. Ultimately, it’s about finding balance—honoring past lives while actively creating new memories filled with love and joy.
