Wow has gaming changed!

Just wanted to share my little collection of old to new Nintendo systems I still own.

I’m so blessed to still have most of my systems in good condition and still working! I remember playing my ds nonstop with Nintendogs and animal crossing wild world (not shown but still have🫶🏼), late school nights playing these games and hiding it under my pillow when I heard my parents coming.

Then I got my 3ds for Christmas and I was in love! I was sad to not use my old ds anymore but I enjoyed the upgrade! I would get every pokemon game for my 3ds and play it non stop and of course animal crossing new leaf! (I was addicted!), then one day as I was passing by the pawn shop I saw the 3ds xl for only $80! I couldn’t say no!

Finally my boyfriend brought me my switch with my favorite color controllers and I have been addicted to it since! I love how versatile the switch is and using it to play with family and friends, Mario party is my all time fave party game, and you guessed it animal crossing new horizons! (I played this game all throughout COVID)

The only DS I don’t own is a DSi! Ohhh how I wanted the DSi just for the flip note feature🤣 if I find a DSi in the wild I will grab it and make it mine!

What are your favorite ds/ switch games you played/ play today?

Paw print switch game holder I got it on Amazon!

... Read moreIt’s truly wild to look back at how Nintendo gaming has evolved through the years! My little collection, from my trusty old DS Lite to my vibrant Switch, tells quite a story. What's often overlooked is the sheer joy of the hunt for these systems. I remember scouring local pawn shops – that’s how I found my 3DS XL for a steal! It makes you wonder about those special edition DS Lites out there; finding one of those would be a real treasure, adding a unique piece to a growing collection. Each system holds so many memories, and keeping them in good condition is a little mission in itself. Thinking back to my DS days, wasn't it amazing how we used to play? Hours spent with Nintendogs and Animal Crossing: Wild World, tucked under the covers. Sometimes I wished I could have seen those tiny screens on something bigger! The idea of DS games on TV was a distant dream back then, reserved for the occasional GBA player with a Game Boy Player for the GameCube. But that dual-screen magic of the DS was truly unique, creating experiences you couldn't get anywhere else. It’s part of what makes those older games so special and gives them a timeless charm. When the 3DS arrived, it felt like such a huge leap! The 3D effect, the updated graphics – it was revolutionary. It's no wonder so many people still cherish their 3DS consoles and games today. There’s a massive library of incredible titles on the 3DS and 2DS, from epic Pokémon adventures to delightful Animal Crossing: New Leaf escapades. Even now, years later, I know people are still discovering and enjoying these gems, sometimes even exploring ways to revisit them. The enduring popularity of the Nintendo 3DS library is a testament to its quality. And then comes the Switch, truly combining the best of both worlds! It’s like Nintendo took everything we loved about handheld gaming and seamlessly integrated it with the home console experience. The Nintendo Switch really feels like the natural evolution from the DS and 3DS. Being able to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the big screen with friends, then instantly take it on the go to continue my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island (which got me through so much during COVID!) is something I could only have dreamed of with my old DS. It’s the ultimate versatile gaming companion, perfect for solo adventures or family game nights. My gaming space is really starting to reflect my personality. I love adding little touches, like my playful Luffy figurine overseeing my collection, or the super cute paw print game holder from Amazon for my Switch cartridges. These small details make the experience even more personal and fun. It's not just about the consoles themselves, but the whole ecosystem around them – the games, the accessories, and the memories we create. It's fascinating to see how gaming hasn't just changed in terms of technology, but also in how we integrate it into our lives and collect pieces of its history. What pieces of gaming history do you cherish the most?

Aaaah that so cool omggg I wish my DSi was still working 😭 I used to play on it nonstop, even though I suckedddd at everything I played. Though the flip note feature was the best. Right now, I’m addicted to stardew valley on the switch- genuinely cannot stop playing it
