📚 What I’m Reading & Where You’ll Find Me 📚

✨First up, my current reading stack while studying at the public library:

📖 Frankenstein by Mary Shelley – I truly cannot believe Shelley wrote this in the 1800s. Once you get into the rhythm of the language, it flows so well! It’s dark, thought-provoking, and filled with themes of ambition, isolation, and what it really means to be human. I’ve also been jotting down vocab words from it because the language is so rich.

📖 The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde– I won’t lie, but this one is taking me longer to get through. Wilde’s wit and philosophy are sharp, but it’s a bit slow to get going. I know the plot ahead is bound to be good, but it’s just taking a while to get there. I approach books like this by setting small weekly reading goals so I stay motivated and interested.

📖 Commercial Arbitration – because law school never stops!

📖 My Kindle – always packed with something good.

✍️ My journal – filled with vocab words (from Frankenstein on the page pictured) because I love expanding my vocabulary (yes, I know, very 7th grade English class of me).

✨ Next up, my Cafe Corner Retreat ☕️

📖 The Whispered Word (Book 2 of The Secret, Book & Scone Society) by Ellery Adams – Cozy mystery at its finest! I love Adams’ way of making books feel like home. The first in the series was my favorite, but this one is still such a great escape from law school stress. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If I could move to Miracle Springs, I 100% would!

✨ While at one of my local cafes, I found this super cool wall covered in white-painted kitchen commodities!

📖 Dim Sum of All Fears (Book 2 of The Noodle Shop Mysteries) by Vivian Chien – I actually started this series with the 8th book in the series because I randomly picked it up as an audiobook and loved the narrator’s voice. Now I’m working my way through the series properly. It never fails to make me crave Chinese takeout in the best way!

✨ The Usual Suspects – I’ve mentioned them at LEAST once before but here they are again! ✨

📖 Sex Cult Nun by Faith Jones – This one is intense. Jones tells her story of growing up in the Children of God cult, and it’s as shocking as it is powerful. It’s a tough read at times, but totally shocking and totally worth it. Plus, book club duty calls and she says we have to push through, especially when it comes to tough subjects!

📖 Wearing the Lion by John Wiswell – A fantasy novel with really unique worldbuilding. I haven’t read much yet, but I received this as a ARC and it has an eerie, dreamlike quality that’s keeping me intrigued.

📖 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling – Haven’t cracked into this one yet either (i just finished up the 4th book in the series!), but Rowling never fails to draw me in with her writing so I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m in Potter World again!

📍 Where I’m reading: The library, cafes, and anywhere with a cozy vibe.

What’s on your reading list this week? 📚💭

Bible Reading 🌸
Starting with psalms is very helpful without knowing what to say when you pray. God reads your heart but if you want to figure out the words to use start here. I pray that you’re able to find some answers with this knowledge 🙏🏾💗 #christiangirl #spreadtheword #jesusfollower #jesusloves

If you want to start reading the Bible, try this!🤎
If you’re anything like me, not knowing where to start can be such a challenge. I felt that way when I began reading the Bible back in January—it was so overwhelming! I really wanted to dive in, but I had no idea where to begin. It finally clicked that I needed what I was reading to truly resona

WHY READING IS A SUPERIOR HOBBY
in my opinion. 😂 honestly love a good book but the flexibility of where, why and how you can read makes it even better. cherry on top? you become a better version of yourself, the more you travel to stories that have nothing to do with your reality. you start to find similarities in fairytales

I prefer essay collections to general books of nonfiction because they tend to be more accessible and way less intimidating. By breaking out a concept into easy to digest essays, the reader is able to absorb the information in their own time and can take breaks between essays until they’re ready fo
