สำหรับใครที่วางแผนไปโอกินาวาในช่วงต้นฤดูฝน เดือนพฤษภาคมแบบนี้ แนะนำให้เตรียมรับมือกับอากาศที่ค่อนข้างแปรปรวน ระหว่างฝนตกปรอยๆ และท้องฟ้าสดใส ถือเป็นช่วงที่คนไม่เยอะมาก เหมาะกับการเที่ยวสบายๆ ไม่ต้องแย่งที่พัก การเดินทางหลักในโอกินาวาใช้รถเมล์และรถไฟฟ้าสายเดียวได้สะดวก หรือใครที่อยากอิสระ แนะนำเช่ารถขับ 2-3 วัน จะช่วยให้เก็บสถานที่ได้ครบและเวลามากขึ้น ซึ่งค่าจอดรถก็ไม่แพงมาก เพียงคืนละประมาณ 900 เยนเท่านั้น ถ้าใครสนใจเที่ยวเกาะ Zamami ต้องเผื่อเวลานั่งเรือประมาณ 2 ชั่วโมงต่อขา และอยู่บนเกาะราว 3 ชั่วโมง เหมาะกับคนที่อยากแค่ว่ายน้ำดูปะการังอย่างจริงจัง ถ้าไม่เน้นแนะนำเล่นน้ำที่เกาะหลักโอกินาวาเช่น Mission Beach ที่อยู่ใกล้กว่าและสวยงามไม่แพ้กัน มีค่าเข้าเล็กน้อยแต่คุ้มค่ามาก เรื่องอาหารที่นี่ค่าครองชีพค่อนข้างสูงกว่าพื้นที่อื่นในญี่ปุ่น โดยเฉพาะเนื้อย่างบุฟเฟต์และอาหารทะเลสด เช่น หอยนางรมย่างในร้านท้องถิ่นที่ราคาโปร่งใส อาจจะต้องเผื่องบไว้มากกว่าปกติ แต่ถ้าไปกับกลุ่มเพื่อนหารค่าโรงแรมและรถ เชื่อว่าประหยัดกว่านี้ได้เยอะ อย่าลืมพกบัตรเดินทางอย่าง Utrip กับเงินสดติดตัวสำหรับขึ้นรถและใช้จ่ายในบางสถานที่ เพราะไม่ใช่ทุกที่รับบัตรเครดิต และสำหรับการวางแผนเที่ยวควรเผื่อเวลาหยุดพักหรือเปลี่ยนโปรแกรมกรณีฝนตกด้วย เพื่อไม่ให้ทริปเครียดเกินไป การได้ลองใช้บริการโรงแรมที่อยู่ห่างจากแหล่งท่องเที่ยวหลักบ้าง จะได้เจอที่พักที่มีพื้นที่กว้างและเงียบสงบเหมาะแก่การพักผ่อนจริงๆ รวมถึงช่วยลดค่าใช้จ่ายได้บ้างในบางกรณี สุดท้ายลองเช็คราคาตั๋วเครื่องบินและหาช่วงเวลาจองล่วงหน้าเพื่อได้ราคาดีที่สุด จะทำให้การเที่ยวโอกินาวาเป็นประสบการณ์ที่คุ้มค่าทั้งเงินและความทรงจำแน่นอน
