📜 The legend that came...From Bodhisattva to Merciful Godmother
Before making a wish, many people may not know that according to the traditional Buddhism in India, he is the "Avalokiteeship Bodhisattva," a man of gender, but when this belief entered China, it was mixed with local myths, so that his appearance gradually changed into a gentle and merciful woman as we see it today.
The most famous and remembered legend is the story of "the daughter of Xiao Xan," a beautiful-hearted princess who was devout to dharma and vegetarianism from childhood. She refused marriage to ordain, angered the Father very much and punished all manner, but the daughter was always saved by miracles.
Until one day, the Father was seriously ill with a disease that no doctor could cure, and the daughter Myozhan in the priest's body gave up his "eyes and arms" to cook a cure until the Father was healed, and with this great sacrifice of gratitude and heart, he attained righteousness as a bodhisattva, and this was the source of Pang "Guanyin with a thousand hands," who guarded and extended his hand to the afflicted animals.
🌸 Why do people make wishes with Guanyin?
From the myth of his selflessness, Guanyin is like a mother overflowing with love for the world. He keeps forbidding suffering, disease, and happiness and prosperity, so people like to bow down to their blessings on things, whether:

* Fragrant flowers such as lotus, jasmine or puddle (white or pink is very good)
* Auspicious fruits such as palm oranges (golden oranges), apples, barrows, bananas or pineapples (avoid thorny or black fruits)
