When I set out to create this drawing, I wanted to capture not just their striking beauty, but also the incredible energy they exude. These flowers always bring such a warmth and positive feeling, and I hoped to infuse that into every stroke. For this particular artwork, I really enjoyed experimenting with different techniques to get that 'vibrant' look. I used my favorite art markers to build up the rich orange hues for the petals and the lush green for the leaves and buds. Adding those whimsical sparkles and glowing orange dots was a last-minute decision, but I think it really gives the piece a magical touch, making the poppies feel alive on the page.
