SURVIVING The End Of The 3rd Trimester 😴🥱
The reality is the end of the third trimester was sweeter to me than the whole pregnancy, aside from being hospitalized for a week.
During the last trimester I worked until he popped out (37wks), I was supposed to work the day I delivered so as soon as I got my epidural I called my director, charge nurse, + nursing supervisor and told them I wasn’t able to come in that night because I was on the other side of the hospital giving birth. Then I was worried that they thought I was going to work the next week because I didn’t clarify that I needed next week off too (GIRL, WHAT? clearly my brain was NOT functioning)
Prior to giving birth I would commute my one hour to work, work my 12 hour night shift, then my one hour commute home, drag myself upstairs and shower before attempting to lay down to get sleep for the next shift. All I did was sleep, work, and eat. On my days off I would attempt to organize his nursery and prior to falling asleep I would remember 15 things that we just NEEDED.. no we actually didn’t need 10 more pairs of socks.
Just before giving birth (like 3 days) I could not fall asleep until i KNEW how to put on the baby wrap & carrier. I wrapped it around caleb until i KNEW for sure how to put it on (it was like 10 times).
the final few weeks felt like they were going to drag on forever, so when my water popped and my contractions started i didn’t believe i was actually in labor!
how did your final weeks go? how are they going?
