Cockroaches Are Taking Over My Home😭

Hey everyone, I really need advice. Our home is being taken over by cockroaches, and it’s starting to wear my whole family down. We live in a joint family setup with my parents, which means so much to us culturally and personally, but lately it feels like we’re losing control of the house.

We’ve tried sprays, traps, and all the store-bought stuff, but they only seem to work for a day or two before the roaches come back like nothing happened. It’s not just a random sighting either, they’re in the kitchen, bathrooms, and sometimes even bedrooms. My mom has lost sleep over this after finding one in her room, and my dad, who takes so much pride in keeping the house, looks completely defeated.

I’ve scrubbed, sanitized, sealed food away, but they still come back. It’s embarrassing watching my parents feel uncomfortable in their own home...

Has anyone here actually found a product, home remedy, or pest control service that worked long-term? Please share what’s worked for you! I’m desperate to bring back some peace of mind for my family😭

... Read moreDealing with cockroach infestations can be incredibly stressful, especially when standard sprays and traps provide only temporary relief. These resilient pests thrive in warm, humid environments and can hide in tiny cracks, making them hard to eliminate without a comprehensive strategy. To effectively combat cockroaches, it's important to combine cleanliness, prevention, and targeted treatments. Start by maintaining impeccable hygiene: clean kitchen counters and floors daily, avoid leaving dirty dishes overnight, and store food in sealed containers. Pay special attention to areas like bathrooms and under sinks where moisture accumulates, as cockroaches are attracted to water sources. Next, inspect your home thoroughly and seal entry points such as gaps around doors, windows, and pipes. Using caulk or weather stripping can reduce their access. In terms of treatments, boric acid powder is a widely recommended home remedy that can be applied in thin layers along common cockroach pathways. While it's toxic to roaches, it should be used carefully around children and pets. Additionally, diatomaceous earth, a natural powder that damages the insects' exoskeletons, can also be sprinkled in problem areas. If these home measures prove insufficient, professional pest control services specialized in cockroach removal can apply more potent and lasting solutions safely and effectively. They often combine baits, gels, and insect growth regulators to interrupt breeding cycles. Remember, persistence and consistency are key. Regular cleaning combined with preventive sealing and targeted treatments can significantly reduce and eventually eliminate cockroach presence, restoring comfort and safety to your home. Don’t hesitate to share your own successful methods or reach out to experts to find the best approach tailored to your living situation.

As long as your neighbor has them , so will you. Combat gel works great. Good luck.

I had the German roaches. I even had an exterminator come in. Finally I used borax acid. It is a poison so do not use where any one or pet has contact with it. With in 2 weeks they were gone. Note: If you or anyone works in hotel or restaurant, do not wear shoes in house. Wash the bottoms off they travel into home that way. Keep a spray bottle with bleach water and clean all surfaces off everyday. I cleaned counters and floors with this formula. Keep all food and water source clean and dry. Such as food or water for pets must be cleaned daily and picked up nite. Burnout sinks and bathtub. They only need a drop of water to survive. Good luck. You can get rid of them it will take the time and effort
