Ending SNAP Is Not Okay!!!!

SNAP benefits will stop on November 1st, that’s next Saturday.

Let’s be clear about who relies on SNAP the most:

• seniors

• people with disabilities

• kids

• people who do work but don’t earn enough because corporations refuse to pay living wages

And yes, even if someone doesn’t have a job, they still deserve to eat. Food is not a reward for productivity. It’s a basic human right.

How did we get to a place where feeding people is up for debate? What can we do to ask SNAP back?!

... Read moreSNAP, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, plays a crucial role in supporting millions of Americans who face food insecurity every day. The program primarily assists seniors, individuals with disabilities, children, and working families who struggle to make ends meet due to low wages. Without SNAP, these groups often face difficult choices between buying food, paying for housing, or managing medical expenses. It’s important to understand that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right and not simply a reward for employment. Many people who benefit from SNAP are employed but earn insufficient wages because of systemic issues like low minimum wages and limited labor protections. In addition, seniors and people with disabilities frequently have fixed incomes that do not stretch far enough to cover all their basic needs. The upcoming cessation of SNAP benefits on November 1st undermines progress toward reducing poverty and hunger. It also increases the burden on food banks, community organizations, and local governments. Many advocacy groups emphasize the need for continued funding and expansion of SNAP to ensure no one goes hungry. Advocating for SNAP can include contacting legislators, supporting hunger relief organizations, and raising awareness about the program’s impact. Public discussions around SNAP often emphasize that society collectively benefits when everyone has access to adequate nutrition, as it promotes better health, educational outcomes, and workforce productivity. Furthermore, food insecurity is deeply interconnected with larger social and economic issues such as poverty, healthcare access, and wage inequality. Efforts to strengthen SNAP should also focus on addressing these root causes to create lasting change. Ending SNAP harms not just individuals but the social fabric as a whole, making it imperative to act now and ensure this critical program endures.

Most children obviously don’t have jobs, their snap benefits should never be taken away. Trump is purposefully taking food off of children’s plates to feed his obese billionaire friends more tax cuts

In order to get snap back and end govt shut down. republicans will need fo stop pushing for Healthcare spendng cuts, and have to push back on trup wanting to eliminate i think it was 40k govt and essential worker jobs. everyone acts like it was fems fault for govt shut down. but they said no to cutting funding for essential programs, and no to cutting Healthcare for American citizens who desperately need it. the govt shut down doesnt have anything to do with non citizens but dems not wanting to sacrifice people's health and needs. their fighting to keep programs intact, and republicans are trying to slash the costs and dema are saying absolutely not. republicans will have to see poor people as humans and give us govf benefits. but they dont want to because it costs too much to them, and republicans think we're lazy entitled etc and we're not. republicans need to compromise for the people, and then the govt shutdown will end.

Yes, I use SNAP — and I’m not ashamed.
Okay, real talk — SNAP isn’t “free money,” it’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance that helps people afford groceries when life gets expensive 🛒 I have SNAP, and it’s honestly been a lifesaver. It works just like a debit card for food — fruits, veggies, meat, snacks, all the essentials. It doesn’t c
