I Can’t Shake This Feeling
I can’t believe I’m even writing this, but my friend’s dog passed away this morning… and I think it might’ve been because of something she gave him.
Yesterday, we were hanging out at her place. She made this little snack board for us—grapes, cheese, chocolate pieces—super cute. Her dog kept begging, and she slipped him “a treat.” I didn’t see exactly what it was, but later I noticed some grapes missing from the board. I didn’t think much of it until today.
She called me crying, saying he was throwing up all night and didn’t make it to the vet in time. I feel sick. Like physically sick.
I know grapes are toxic for dogs. But I don’t know if she knows that. And I don’t know if telling her now would help her or completely destroy her.
Do you think there’s even a right way to tell someone something like this? Or should I just keep my mouth shut forever?
