Today I'm going to go through a story that's going viral around the world and tear many people into tears. That's the story of Punch-kun, a baby monkey who was abandoned by her mother. 🥺
🐒 What happened to "Punch-kun"?
This story takes place in Ichikawa City Zoo, Japan. Punch-kun is a six-month-old Japanese snow monkey (born in July last year) who was unfortunately dumped by the real mother at birth. The authorities assume that it was caused by a "heat wave" that caused the new monkey to be so stressed that it was not ready to take care of the baby.

The baby monkey is like a baby. They wanted to embrace it for peace of mind, so the zoo staff gave the "orangutan doll" (yes, the version sold on IKEA!) to be a temporary adoptive mother. The image of Punch-kun, who hugged the doll so tightly and refused to let go, became a lovely and beautiful viral for animal lovers around the world.
